Finish Boss Rush mode in less than five minutes to get the Rocket Launcher "RPG".

Chaos Ring
Get 100% of the Souls to get the Chaos Ring, in the abyss.

Gold Ring
In the left part of Subterranean Hell, there is a slot machine door. If the last three digits of your gold are 666, the door will slide back, and you can get the Gold Ring. With the Gold Ring, you can get more money from enemies and candles.

Easier Boss Rush mode
Activate the Devil Soul and use the Valmanway Sword. You can take down all the Bosses in less than five minutes.

Easy experience
Equip yourself in the A set with Dracula's Tunic or Demon Mail, Gungner the Last Spear (recommended due to its reach and does not lose important souls) or Valhmanway Sword, and the Shaman Ring. In the Soul part, equip the Imp Soul in Bullet, the Black Panther in Guardian, and the Mothman in Enchant. In set B, have all the same except for the Chaos ring and the Succubus Bullet Soul. Go to the large falling trail near Lost Village (in front of Yoko's shop there is an entrance where you blow up the ceiling in the fountain). Then, go to the end and you will see an Iron Golem. With set A, use the Imp Soul and the weapon you selected to kill him faster. When you run low on magic, change to set B with X and replenish fast with the Chaos Ring. If you run low on health, use the Succubus Soul to get life from the ghosts on the right and replenish. Go from right to left (from the ghosts' side) with the Phanter soul to go faster. Kill the Iron Golem to get 3,500 experience points each time.

Easy Soul Eater Ring and money
Get the Mimic Soul and go to the Clock Tower. There is a save room with a spike pit next to it at the bottom right corner of the Clock Tower. The Mimic Soul will usually give you 500 gold each time you are hit by the spikes. Whenever you get low on health, go to the save room, heal, and repeat.

Attack faster
If you have a heavy weapon like a great sword, slow attacks can be a problem. To hit an enemy twice quickly, stand very close to them and attack. Then just as it connects, press L to dash backwards. As soon as it stops, you can attack again; if you are still close enough it should hit. This is quicker than just attacking twice normally.

Double Archer
Set Amalaric Sniper Soul as a Bullet Soul, then set Skull Archer as a Guardian Soul. Now when you go to charge the Skull Archer with R, the Amalaric Sniper will automatically activate at the same time and fire alongside. This is a very powerful combo, especially in the early levels. Note: Depending on how long you charge the Skull Archer's soul, it may consume a lot of mana.

Last two abilities
The final two abilities are enemy Souls. These Souls are the Procel and Mudman. The Procel is found in Subterranean Hell and Mudman is found in the Abyss. These Souls allow you to walk through water and stand freely.

Secret monsters
There are three secret monsters (Yeti, Mothman, and Flying Humanoid). To get the Yeti, you must first get the Waiter Skeleton Soul then go back to the very beginning of the game. You will see him walking in the background. Toss the curry and he will come up where you can attack him and gain his Soul. You will need the Rycuda Soul leveled up to at least two to get Mothman. Go to The Pinnacle to the area where there are two final guards and a light in between them. Strike the generator next to the light with Rycuda and Mothman will appear. For the Flying Humanoid, you will need the Mandragora Soul. Enter the room in between the Zephyr Boss room and a save room, then use the Soul.

Free potions
In one section of Subterranean Hell there is a see-saw with a boulder sitting on it. In the background are bells hanging on the walls. Hit the flat part of the see-saw with a hammer type weapon. The rewards for ringing the bells are as follows:

Soul Synthesis warning
If you want the best weapons in the game, you must give up some of your Boss Souls. For example, if you want the Claimh Solais, then you must give up the Gergoth Soul.

Leave level boundary
This trick requires the Succubus Soul and the Cutall weapon. Go to the last save location in the Abyss and do the special attack on the very end of the wall, not near the door. Keep doing the special move until you fall out of the level. It is possible to get back to the save room. If you have a 100% map completion, you will uncover about 56% more if you manage to get back in the save room. Note: If this is done, you will make the final Boss impossible to defeat. After you defeat him, he will just respawn.

Worst ending
Defeat Dario Bossi during the second battle.

Bad ending
Use the Paranoia Soul to enter the mirror during the second battle with Dario Bossi. Defeat Aguni, then return to the other side of the mirror and get the Magic Seal. Then, go to the center of the castle and enter the Boss door without Mina's Talisman.

Best ending
Use the Paranoia Soul to fight Aguni. Collect the Magic Seal, then return to the center of the castle. Have Mina's Talisman equipped when you enter the Boss door, then successfully complete the game.

Defeating Dmitri
If you have a Witch Soul, let Dmitri copy it. The projectile attack from this Soul is fairly easy to avoid and will make this fight much easier. Additionally, use Une on him and let him copy it. It is the easiest enemy skill to avoid. Also, do not use any R skills (especially the familiars), as he will also copy them and use them along with the bullet skills, giving him two attacks which you must avoid.

Defeating the Iron Golem
Use the Imp Soul; it switches HP damage to MP damage.

Bell
To get the bell you need to get the Hippogryph Soul in the abyss, go to the room in the Dark Chapel with the three bells and use the Hippogryph Soul under each bell. One of them will drop the bell that you can sell to Hammer.

Crown
In the Demon Guest House, there is a small room with a bed, a waiter skeleton, and a chair in it. When you walk in, the skeleton will throw curry at you and run into the wall, killing itself. Walk in front of the chair and press Up to sit in it. Wait approximately fifteen seconds and a crown will appear on the floor in front of you. It cannot be equipped and you cannot use it. The description reads "5000 points".

Konami Man
In the Clocktower in one of the rooms with a lot of spikes, there is a small area with no spikes that is very difficult to reach. Use the Bat Company Soul and land on the spot, then crouch. The Konami Man will fly by, which you can catch and sell to Hammer.

Shaman Ring
In the Condemned Tower, there is a gold slot machine door. If the last three digits of your gold are 573, the door will open, revealing the Shaman Ring. This allows you to gain experience faster.

Three 7's clothing
In the Garden Of Madness, there is a gold slot machine door. If the last three digits of your gold are 777, the door will open, revealing the three 7's clothing. This will boost your Luck, Intelligence and Constitution by 7.

Easy money
Go to the Lost Village and kill some Axe Armors until you get an axe. Then, go to Yoko's place and upgrade the axe into the Battle Axe. Next, upgrade the Battle Axe into a Bhuj. Then, go to Hammer's shop and sell it for 10,000 gold.

Iron Golem Soul
In your sets, equip in A: unarmed, any desired armor, and Soul Eater Ring. In the Souls, equip Imp[B], Black Panther[G], and for enchant, you can use anything desired. In set B: use any weapon desired, any desired armor, and Chaos Ring. In Souls, equip Succubus[B], and any other guardian and enchant desired, though Treant[E] is recommended. Then, go to the place in Wizardry Lab where you break the ceiling. Find the fountain in the Lost Village, then fall all the way down, and turn right to find the Iron Golem. Activate Imp[B], and punch the thing very fast and it should die. If you get low on HP or MP, use the Black Panther[G] soul to dash to the room on the right, then switch to set B. The Chaos Ring will replenish your MP and you can use the Succubus[B] soul to get HP from the ghosts. When the process is done, switch back to set A and continue fighting the Golem.

Pass the spiked room
Use one of the following methods to get pass the spiked room in Subterranean Hell. The first is to equip these Souls: Puppet Master, Bat Company, and Skeleton Ape. Fly up until you get to a space on the floor with Bat Company. Then, use Puppet Master so you can transfer to the next space. Fly again with Bat Company to the other side. The second method is to equip on your R Souls, Bone Ark. Then just use it from the start of the spiked room and wait for it to carry you the other end.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Hint: Make Dmitri Undead (Again)
When you start the battle with Dimitrii, change your Bullet soul to 'Skeleton' and hit him with it, This will cause him to use the Skeleton soul against you, which is easy to dodge and is also weak. Now you can easily whack Dimitrii to your hearts content whilst taking minimal damage.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Hint: Blood For Profit
Equip the Mimic Soul and head to the clock tower save point. With this soul equipped, you can get hurt on the spikes to gain money, then use the save point to regain health when needed.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Hint: Iron Golem Smash
The Iron Golem is a tough enemy to take down since it usually only takes one damage per hit. Use the Mjollnjr Hammer weapon which will hit several hits instead of just one. If you cleared the game and unlocked the Boss Rush, use the Terror Bear's soul item for a slightly easier attack on the Iron Golem.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Hint: Special Soul Combos
By equipping certain sets of souls, you can unlock special abilities that combine the powers of each soul. These are the combinations:

  • Amalaric Sniper, Skull Archer
  • Guillotiner, Mini Devil
  • Fish Head, Needles
  • Flame Demon, Bat Company
  • Fleaman, Bat Company
  • Slogra, Gaibon
  • Une, Alura Une

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Hint: Hard To Find Souls
Yeti ... Take the Waiter Skeleton Soul and go to the start of the game where Julius and Yoko were seen at. A small figure may be seen in the backdrop. If the WS soul is used, the Yeti will spring forward to attack.

Mothman ... Go to the Pinnacle area and locate a hallway with two Final Guards. Use the Rycuda soul on the spotlight's generator between the two Final Guards and nab your enemy.

Flying Humanoid ... Go to the area between the Clock Tower boss and the save point. A figure may be seen in the backdrop. Using the Mandragora soul will lure out this enemy.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Hint: Batting Final Guards
Final Guard enemies are a hard to kill. Use the Bat Company soul to attack them from behind. This bags you free hits while evading their attacks.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Hint: Zephyr Blindspot
The goal is to glitch the boss into hanging on the edge of the screen, doing nothing, but being vulnerable to your attacks. Equip Skeleton Ape Soul and Puppet Master Soul. Wait for the boss Zephyr at the opposite side of the room (next to a wall) to goad the boss into doing the sliding attack move. If you manage to execute the Puppet Master skill right before the boss hits your character, the boss will slide through your character (during the animation) and Zephyr will continue sliding into the wall and stuck! From there on out, you simply bash his head in with a rock. Note that if you approach too close, the boss will unstick itself and attack you once more.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Hint: Skip Boss Rush
This is basically the same method used in the rare item bug trick but for skipping the entire boss rush mode and still obtaining the item at the end of the mode.

If you are afraid of data corruption, make a copy of the game before you do this.

Make sure you have the Cinquedia weapon. Hammer will sell it to you if you don't have it. Equip Succubus bullet-type soul and Cinquedia once in boss rush mode.Stand near the right wall of each exit to a boss room and use the Succubus attack (UP + ATTACK) and quicky cancel with special attack. Quickly attack three times and do another special attack. After that your should have teleported through the wall into the next boss room.

Repeat this over until you have passed all the bosses and reached the last room where the item awaits you and the boss rush mode ends.

Depending on how quick you have beat the boss rush mode will depend on what item you will recieve:

  • 8 minutes or more, Potion
  • Under 8 min, Nunchuku
  • Under 7 min, Terror Bear
  • Under 6 min, Death Robe
  • Under 5 min, R.P.G. weapon

  • In the room with the water, just sink to the bottom right corner and perform the bug there. You can also equip the Enchant-soul: Draghignazzo to avoid being interrupted while trying to do this glitch.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Hint: Low Life Scraping
When your health is low, equip the Succubus soul. If you don't want to risk losing more health, simply use it on candle sticks. When you do this you gain health and the candles drop hearts that replenish magic.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Bug: Get Rare Weapons

  • Make a copy of the game to avoid screwing save file.
  • Choose the copied save and make sure you have the Cinquedia weapon-- Hammer sells it.
  • Warp to Mine of Judgement and enter the Abyss to reach the first save point.
  • Equip Succubus bullet-type soul and Cinquedia
  • Save your game here so you can redo the bug to get desired results .
  • Stand near the left wall and use the Succubus attack (UP + attack) and quicky cancel with special attack. Quickly attack three times and do another special attack--you should be through the wall.
  • Press down + jump to slide--watch your map and you'll see your dot move to the right.
  • Move to the left side of the screen and wait for about 5 minutes.
  • When your dot stops moving, hold left on the d-pad to move back to the right side of the screen and continue until you re-enter the map.
  • Your controls will sometimes be messed up -- you can reset them to default to fix them.
  • Check your swords and bullet-type souls. You'll randomly get weapons you can't normally get -- alucard sword /whip -- and souls from other characters, like Belmont's abilities.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Easter Egg: Classic Castlevania Coolness
There are a few left-overs from the 8-bit Castlevania in Dawn of Sorrow. Go to the Demon Guest House and locate the room with a chair and bed. Sit in the chair and a crown (doesn't do anything) will appear.

In the Chapel, employ Hippogryph to reach the bell on the farthest left and a bell will appear. Both of these items were point bonus items in the original NES Castlevania.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Easter Egg: Konami Man
Locate the room with ceiling spikes in the Cursed Clock Tower. Use Bat Company to get on the small platform and have Soma crouch to cause the Konami Man to appear. Konami Man is a mascot known only to 8-bit Konami game fans (like Goonies II).
